My Story
I grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada, where I raised my family and was an elementary school teacher for twenty-six years. A few years ago, I had the wonderful opportunity to move to Florence, Italy. I saw this as a chance to pursue a "second" career, one that I have always been passionate about, interior design. My extended family and friends are still in the Maritimes where I will be returning to work on more projects, one of which is the Lochaber Farmhouse.
I have been very lucky over the years to work with skilful carpenters, tradespeople, and craftspeople. Three of the homes that are featured on this website were collaborations with the talented Woodcrest Construction Ltd. The Lochaber Farmhouse was completed by the wonderful craftspeople at Caper Developments Ltd.
My Philosophy
Home for me has always been about a feeling. The quote by Wanda Ferragamo, "A house reflects the people who live in it and the love you put into things" rings true to me. The more I travel and experience, the more I realize that the most interesting and beautiful spaces are the ones that are comfortable and functional but also curated. My style mixes old with new, incorporating vintage and new pieces of furniture with beautiful textiles, colours, and treasured items that give a home soul.
